Information on the ban on 1T-LSD

Last updated: 06. May 2024

The ban is not expected to come into force until mid-June 2024!

An amendment to the NpSG does not appear in the current draft agenda.
A ban on the substance was to be expected sooner or later. The current situation points to a possible ban from mid-June 2024. We want to give you a brief and always up-to-date overview of the current legal situation and developments.

How is 1T-LSD banned?

For a substance to be banned in Germany, it must first be covered by a law such as the BtMG (Narcotics Act) or NpSG (New Psychoactive Substances Act). Legislative amendments are decided by the Federal Council at the plenary sessions. The first draft of the agenda is published two and a half weeks before each plenary session (bundesrat.de), an agenda with fixed agenda items is then published 10 days beforehand. Amendments to the agenda are still possible up until the start of the plenary session, but in our experience are unlikely to result in changes to the NpSG.

When is the next possible ban date?

The next meeting of the Federal Council is on 17.05.2024, where, according to the current agenda, there will be no vote on an amendment to the NpSG.

1T-LSD will therefore remain legal for some time. The meeting after that is on June 14, 2024 and the agenda will be published as a first draft on May 28, 2024. Further dates can be found on the Federal Council’s homepage. However, it can be assumed that a ban will come into force before the summer break.

The recommendation to the Federal Government to include 1T-LSD in the NpSG was already adopted on December 4, 2023 in the “Expert Committee for Narcotics pursuant to Section 1 (2) BtMG and New Psychoactive Substances pursuant to Section 7 NpSG”.

Extract from the results of 04.12.2023

The Committee of Experts has recommended that the Federal Government make the following amendments and additions to the Annex to the New Psychoactive Substances Act (NpSG): (…)

  • Clarification of Annex point 5 “Tryptamine-derived compounds”

To the complete results (BfArM – Federal Institute for Drugs and Medical Devices) – Status: 19.12.2023

Annex 5 of the NPSG lists the LSD derivatives in simple terms. These include substances that have already passed the test, such as 1V-LSD, 1P-LSD or 1cP-LSD. The “Clarification of Annex (…) 5” will include 1T-LSD.

What about the possession of 1T-LSD after a ban?

The possession of substances that fall under the NpSG is illegal, but is generally not prosecuted.

You don’t need to worry about your own personal stash, stored within your own four walls. Since possession is not a criminal offense and is not regulated by law, there will be no “house searches” solely on the basis of 1T-LSD!

Experience from the last bans has shown that there were no activities on the part of the police authorities. As a store, we stop online sales about a week before the ban. In this way, we ensure that the entire purchasing process is completed before the ban.
